Skeleton Key, a murder mystery, is a follow-up novel to Loving the Rain. After tragedy in Clay Thomas’s life, he meets Erika Payne, who helps him realize that his mind powers can be used for good. Erika’s despised husband, Adrian, disappeared after a train wreck, but his ghost is determined to help Clay solve the mystery, first by leading Clay to the body, and then by giving clues about his death. Clay teams up with his son, Tanner, a college athlete who also possesses mind powers, and the small town police chief to unravel a mystery in which nearly everyone connected is a suspect who believes he is guilty. Using their unique powers, Clay and Tanner search for answers with the final goal of bringing closure and relief to Erika and her troubled son.  Skeleton Key is a captivating novel about faith, moving beyond past experiences, dealing with life honestly, and the peace and healing that come through answers and kindness.
Clay Thomas was born with the uncanny ability to manipulate minds.  A young Clay occasionally used his powers to his advantage—until he realized the potential of harsh consequences--consequences that become reality when he comes face-to-face with a ghost from his past. Clay knew Jack Harding twenty years before, and though he never discovered Clay’s secret, Harding is convinced his former adversary is to blame for his past humiliation, and sets out to exact revenge. Now a hardened criminal, he strikes at Clay where he is most vulnerable: his wife, Jessie, whom Clay keeps at arm’s length to hide his gift, and Tanner, who is developing his own emerging powers. Stopping Harding could force Clay to finally expose his secret—and to open his heart to love once and for all. Loving the Rain is a suspenseful drama about the power of unconditional love, unreserved forgiveness, and the importance of allowing people to make their own choices.
